JESS BURNQUIST received an MFA in Creative Writing from Arizona State University. In addition to teaching high school AP Literature and Film as Literature, Jess is a Program Coordinator for the human rights education site Rock Your World of Creative Visions. She is also the co-founder and author of Kindred Spirits, a human rights focused educational blog sponsored by the American Federation of Teachers. Her work has appeared in The Washington Post, Time, NPR, Sundress, Persona, Natural Bridge and various online and print journals. She is a recipient of the Joan Frazier Memorial Award for the Arts at ASU and has been honored with a Sylvan Silver Apple Award. She resides in the greater Phoenix metropolitan area with her husband, son, and daughter. Her poetry chapbook You May Feel Your Way Past Me is forthcoming from Dancing Girl Press in June of 2017.
