Per usual, external educational demands are vying for attention with the demands of students and inner classroom workings. I keep waiting for this balancing act to level off a bit, but I think the truth is that it will ebb and flow forever.
This year's Creative Writing class has found its groove early on and their desire to work together bodes incredibly well for big plans and collaborations in our near future. I'm including the link to their splendid work here.
Today, I long to be able to share the volume of learning that has occurred in Room 457 thus far, but I have stacks of grading. Happily, I'm writing about some of the most fruitful projects in the classroom and these articles are slated to appear in Edutopia and GOOD magazine in short order. I'll be sure to share here when they post.
In the meantime, it's the Jewish New Year--I'm taking stock of my gratitude for incredible students, a job that I love and for friends and family who make my life rich with love and warmth. Before the apples and honey, I'm determined to get that grading done...
